EU and NATO welcome inter-Afghan talks

The European Union (EU) and NATO have welcomed the start of bilateral talks between the warring factions in Afghanistan today. In his message, he welcomed the move, saying that now that all the conditions for starting bilateral talks have been met, the Afghan government and the Taliban, which are participating in the talks, should seize this opportunity to achieve peace. Don't let go and make this negotiation process your own. Joseph Borrell further demanded that the parties declare an immediate ceasefire throughout Afghanistan as a first step in the start of the talks. He said that now that all the conditions for the start of talks in Afghanistan have been met, only violence can be used. The shortage is not enough. Giuseppe Borrell also called on all countries supporting the process to pay special attention to Afghanistan's independence and sovereignty, as well as to take care of these issues during the talks. Let Afghan society move forward on social issues, including women's rights, since 2001, without diminishing and benefiting the weaker sections of Afghanistan. NATO will continue its re-engagement support mission in Afghanistan, which is not for combat but is conducting training and consultation of Afghan forces, the NATO Secretary General added.
